TIER ON TIER

Two sets of shutters within one frame, offering total control with panels you can operate independently of one another.

All three styles are available in three slat options: 64mm, 76mm and 89mm.

CHOOSE YOUR FRAME TYPE

L FRAME

Allows you to position the shutters at the front of the recess, with the panels opening flat against the wall.

These are positioned at the front edge of the recess and jut outwards, thus creating a natural architrave style.

For both options, be aware of any obstructions, such as the windows opening inwards, window handles and window sills.

These are examples of commonly seen side profiles, for specific frame appearance and measurements, please refer to the more information tooltips, in your chosen product page. Alternatively, give us a quick call on 01484 443790.

STEP 1 - MEASURING FOR YOUR SHUTTER

A diagram showing how to measure for your shutter in a recess

MEASURING WIDTH

Take 3 measurements across the width of the top, middle, and bottom of the recess. The smallest measurement will be your blind width. (We will make your blind 3mm narrower for a snug fit.)

MEASURING DROP

Take 3 measurements from the top down, along the left, middle, and right of the recess. The smallest measurement will be your blind drop. (We will make your blind 3mm shorter for a snug fit.)

CHECKING THE SQUARENESS OF THE WINDOW

Measure diagonally across the recess in both directions.

NOTE: If the recess is more than 15mm out of square, using the Z frame may be more suitable, and will require less remedial work.

MEASURING FOR MID-RAILS

For shutters over 1600mm, a mid-rail will be incorporated, which adds rigidity to the panels. This will be placed usually half way.

Please state the position of the mid-rail by measuring from the bottom of where the shutter frame will be fixed up to the centre of where you want the mid-rail to be. This will usually be where there is a transom on the window.

EXTRA STEP

For measuring further back inside a recess

For inside recess measurements, please make note of these slat and frame clearance depths:

Shutter Frame 49.8mm

63mm slats do not protrude out of the back of the frame.

89mm slats protrude out the back by an extra 15mm.

Please allow for no interference in slat operation.

TIER ON TIER STYLE

For Tier on Tier shutters measure as standard full height shutter but ascertain the height of the tiers by measuring up from where the bottom of the frame will be fixed, to the centre point of where you require the split of the tiers.

NOTE: For Bromley Snow & true White, a T-Bar will be provided by default. This simply slots into the frame on installation.

On all other Tier On Tier shutters, there will be a bar over 1500mm width.

CAFE STYLE

For Cafe Style, to ascertain the finished height to the top of the panel, again measure up from the bottom where the frame will be fixed to where you want the panel to finish.
